On-Premise Implementations

Oracle E-Business Suite R12 on your own infrastructure.

On-Premise Implementations-Implementing ERP Solutions at Our premises i.e in our Infrastructures, will consider Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) implementation as ideal case for On-Premise Implementations.

Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Release 12 (R12) is a comprehensive, integrated suite of global business applications. Implementing an enterprise system of this scale requires a strict, structured methodology.

Historically, Oracle used the AIM (Application Implementation Methodology) for EBS. While officially succeeded by the iterative OUM (Oracle Unified Method), the core implementation principles and key structural processes remain highly similar

Core Phases of an EBS R12 Implementation Process

An ERP implementation is divided into distinct execution blocks, shifting from planning to execution and transition:

Inception & Definition (Project Kick-off)

  • Goal: Establish the project’s governance, timelines, scope, and resource constraints.
  • Activities: Define key stakeholder roles, procure required Oracle Software Licenses, and complete the high-level project charter.

Operations & Requirements Analysis (As-Is vs. To-Be)

  • Goal: Gather functional blueprints and discover what the business needs.
  • Document the legacy environment’s “As-Is” workflows.
  • Establish the “To-Be” multi-organization, country-specific, and accounting structures (e.g., Ledger and Ledger Currencies).
  • Finalise the Chart of Accounts (COA) mapping across subledgers.
    •

Solution Design & Gap Analysis (Conference Room Pilots - CRP)

  • Goal: Map corporate needs directly against standard Oracle EBS capabilities.
  • Vanilla Approach Evaluation: Map business logic directly to native features to avoid coding debt.
  • Gap Analysis: Identify deviations where standard workflows cannot satisfy a requirement.
  • FRICEW Identification: Document custom enhancements classified as Forms, Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Extensions, or Workflows.
  • CRP1/CRP2: Walk business super-users through prototyping milestones inside a vanilla instance to validate setup concepts.

System Build & Configuration

  • Goal: Hard-code rules, create custom components, and configure the application layers.
  • Configure environment modules (e.g., Financials, Supply Chain, Human Capital).
  • Complete core technical components, layout configurations, and data conversion loaders (legacy data extraction).
  • Build application and database system boundaries (multi-tier architecture setups managed by Apps DBAs).

Transition (Testing & User Readiness)

  • Goal: Rigorously validate the end-to-end ecosystem and prepare users for deployment.
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Business users walk through live transactional scripts to certify operational readiness.
  • Data Migration Cutover: Load legacy master data records (e.g., Suppliers, Customers, Assets) and open balances into the new production pod.
  • End-User Training: Deliver role-based user navigation and process workflows.

Production & Go-Live (Hypercare Support)

  • Goal: Transition operations entirely to the new Oracle EBS R12 instance.
  • Activities: Switch systems live on the target cutover date. The implementation team provides intense post-go-live “Hypercare” support to resolve initial data, interface, or processing issues
